Margaret Larkins-Pettigrew, MD, MEd, MPPM, FACOG, is the Senior Vice President and the Enterprise Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer for Allegheny Health Network / Highmark Health. As a published author, (The Colors of My Heart: Embracing My Blackness Through History, Family, Fear and Faith) and an academic chair and professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Drexel University, she cares for women in her general OB/GYN practice, with a special interest in providing care for women living with HIV and those in low- to middle-resource communities.

She continues to mentor learners focused on cultural humility in medicine. Dr. Pettigrew has a prestigious education and academic profile that includes several advanced degrees. Certifications include clinical expertise and advanced training in leadership, strategic planning, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). She is recognized nationally and internationally for her robust career and contributions as a sustainable and transformational change agent utilizing the Pillars of Internal Transformational Equity, a model created by Larkins-Pettigrew, LLC. Her work in DEI highlights the root causes and potential solutions to disparity gaps in health, wealth and medical practice patterns. She has been featured as a speaker and consultant, including appearances on CNN, MSNBC and several media outlets locally, across the United States and abroad. As the founder and President of JustWONDOOR, a global health 501c non-profit specialty training organization, Dr. Pettigrew’s voice encompasses and explores the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, social and economic status, age, physical ability, religion and experience from both a local and international perspective.
