Peter A. Rasmussen, MD, is Chief Clinical Officer for The Clinic by Cleveland Clinic and professor of neurosurgery, Department of Neurosurgery, Cleveland Clinic and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. He maintains a busy practice offering patients either open microsurgery or endovascular, minimally invasive treatment options. As the former Director of the Cerebrovascular Center at the Cleveland Clinic, Rasmussen founded Cleveland Clinic’s telestroke program, which has grown to nearly 1,300 teleconsults/year. He also envisioned and implemented the Mobile Stroke Treatment Unit, one of the first such units in the United States. Rassmussen is a Past-President of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery and is internationally recognized as an expert in cerebrovascular surgery.
