Sergio Santiviago

Lead Director, Government Relations, CVS Health

Sergio Santiviago is a Lead Director, Government Relations for CVS Health. In this role, he focuses on federal regulatory and legislative policies involving prescription drug issues, including pricing, coverage in both commercial and public program markets, competition, etc.

He works closely with leaders of CVS Health business units along with both the state and federal policy and lobbying teams to develop company positioning and advocacy efforts on health care policies impacting our clients and patients.

Having joined recently from AHIP, where he served as Vice President, Drug Policy, Sergio has been working in politics and public policymaking for over 20 years. After graduating from the University of Michigan and interning for a U.S. Senator in Washington, DC, he returned home to work in the Michigan state legislature for several years before pursuing his law degree at the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Ill. After earning his Juris Doctorate with Health Law Certificate, he returned to the nation’s Capital and worked in government affairs for several health care-related trade associations and companies—representing insurers, providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesale drug distributors, and pharmacy benefit managers—before joining CVS Health. His dog and cat allow him to live in their Washington, DC home with his wife and two teenaged sons.
