Sheryl Markowitz, LCSW, LISW-S

Sheryl Markowitz joined Healthfirst in August 2019, and is responsible for leading the care management, utilization management and clinical operations. She brings a passion for members and person-centered care that is rooted in her personal, professional and academic experience. Prior to joining Healthfirst, Sheryl had senior leadership roles at Anthem, The Lewin Group, ViaQuest, Senior Bridge, CareSource and Wellpoint. Earlier, she worked with non-profits including The March of Dimes and The Make-A-Wish Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. She began her career as a Pediatric Oncology Social Worker at University Hospitals of Cleveland. Sheryl has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The American University, a Master’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Pennsylvania and a Certificate of Nonprofit Management from Case Western Reserve University. Sheryl has also served as an instructor and guest lecturer at Case Western Reserve University and Kent State University, and she has provided clinical instruction at Virginia Commonwealth University.
