Steve Haro

With nearly two decades of government service and political campaign experience, Steve Haro’s policy work in both congress and the executive branch has spanned countless issues, challenges, and disciplines. Recognized by Hispanic Business Magazine in its Top 100 Most Influential Hispanics list, his unique, broad background provides clients, colleagues, and collaborators with a holistic view of government, policy, and politics that few can match.

Haro began his career as a staffer for then-Congressman and now Secretary of Health and Human Services, Xavier Becerra, serving in various roles including communications director, legislative director and senior adviser running his leadership office. He was the Colorado communications director for John Kerry’s presidential campaign in 2004. In 2008, he served as western regional director and national Hispanic outreach director for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Haro has served as chief of staff to two United States Senators, Martin Heinrich of New Mexico and Dianne Feinstein of California. In 2015, he was nominated by President Barrack Obama and unanimously confirmed by the Senate as an assistant secretary of Commerce.
