Terri Swanson
President, Aetna Medicare, CVS Health
As the Aetna Medicare President, Terri has full profit and loss responsibility for Aetna’s Medicare business portfolio serving nearly 11 million Medicare members. Her responsibilities also include sales, operations and strategy for all Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare prescription drug plans and Medicare Supplement plans throughout the Aetna enterprise.
Previously, Terri served as the Vice President for Individual Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D within the Aetna health care business. In this role, Terri had P&L responsibility for the Individual Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D businesses driving geographic expansion, strategy, financial performance and growth. She has been with Aetna since 2010.
Terri has been serving Medicare members since 2005 when, as a Vice President in CIGNA’s Senior & Retiree Services organization, she launched CIGNA’s Medicare Part D business and built operations for CIGNA’s re-entry into the Medicare Advantage space. From 2008 until 2010, Terri served as WellPoint’s Vice President and General Manager responsible for its Individual Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement businesses nationally.
Prior to 2005, Terri served in roles of increasing responsibility in the computer (Control Data Corporation, Cray Research) and health care (Express Scripts, HealthNexis, RxHub) industries.
Terri holds a Master of Science degree, Management of Technology, from the University of Minnesota, and a B.A. in Computer Science also from the University of Minnesota.
