AHIP One-Pager Highlights Urgent Need for Legislative Action on HIT Relief
As we continue our advocacy for legislation to suspend the ACA health insurance tax (HIT) for 2020 and beyond, we are sharing with you a new AHIP one-pager that provides an overview of the timelines under which various health insurance products need to be filed for the 2020 plan year. We are using this paper in our outreach to Congress to emphasize the urgent need for legislative action on HIT relief.
Our paper explains: “Since health plan rates for the coming year are already being developed and deadlines are rapidly approaching, it’s critical Congress take immediate action to provide relief for consumers. Immediately repealing or delaying the HIT before rates are submitted and finalized will help ensure that Americans have more choices, improved benefits, and more affordability for 2020.”
