These services encompass prevention (e.g., contraception, HPV Vaccine) and screening (e.g., mammography, cervical and ovarian cancer screening), maternity and postpartum health, behavioral health, and more.
- Health insurance providers are also working to address the significant impact the opioid crisis has had on the health of mothers and their babies. Many health insurance providers are partnering with hospitals, physicians, and other organizations to create specialized programs including medication assisted treatment (MAT) and counseling for pregnant women struggling with opioid addiction or other substance use disorder (SUD).
